Syracuse Woman Cited After Two-Vehicle Crash

BRISTOL - A Syracuse woman was cited for following too closely after a two-vehicle accident Thursday in which she was injured.
According to an Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office crash news release, at 11:57 a.m. Thursday, Tiffany Johns, 37, Syracuse, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze north on Ind. 15, south of CR 14, Bristol, behind a 2021 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Michael McPherson, 28, Portage.
The Tacoma was slowed or stopped northbound on Ind. 15, attempting to go west onto CR 14. Johns followed too closely to the Tacoma and impacted McPherson’s vehicle’s rear with the front of the Cruze.
Johns was taken to the Elkhart General Hospital for ankle, finger injuries and a bruised stomach by Jefferson Township medics. McPherson complained of pain to the head but was not transported. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The Cruze sustained heavy front-end damage, while the Tacoma sustained heavy rear-end damage.
The release states that Johns received a citation for following too closely.
