Editor, Times-Union:
In support of:
— Democracy
— the rule of law
— the U.S. Constitution
— Harry Dunn, Michael Fanone and 130+ other Capitol police
— my children, my grandchildren and their children
— Ruby Freeman and Shae Moss and all election poll workers
— small business and big ideas
— all those who were sacrificed for America’s need for guns without restrictions
— veterans and all that they are and deserve
— the continuation of Medicare and Social Security
— all overworked and underpaid educators
— our planet and all its needs
— unity and inclusion and compassion
— our allies across the globe
— the rights and freedoms of women
— peace and hope and joy and promise
— sanity and competence in our leaders
— all of our voices to continue to be heard
— our Republic, for which it stands, one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all
— truth, decency and honor
— country over party
— normalcy (we miss it terribly)
— equality for all people
— kindness and empathy and respect
— common sense, experience and integrity
— opportunity and possibilities—not just for us but for you too
— accountability when mistakes are made
My many friends and I are voting early for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, for Jennifer McCormick, Valerie McCray, Destiny Wells, and Lori Camp. We are proud to be Hoosiers. We are proud to be Americans. We are hopeful.
