Rose L. Boyer, 93, of Burket, entered her heavenly home at 10:41 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, at her residence.
Rose was born on April 6, 1931, near Akron, to the late O’Neal and Mamie Linebrink Gagnon. She graduated from Akron High School in 1949. On June 14, 1952, she married Kenneth E. Boyer in Silver Lake. He preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1995.
Rose worked at Jomac Products of Warsaw and Chamberlin Products of Akron. She also cared for the elderly, but her true passion was running a daycare. A longtime member of the Silver Creek Church of God, she enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. Rose cherished her family, loved hosting holiday gatherings, and going on vacations with them.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl and husband Mike Baker, of Burket; Carol and husband Carl Shepherd, of Silver Lake; and Colleen and husband Larry Taylor, of Warsaw; grandchildren: Mark Slone, Brian Slone, Jennifer (Kyle) Miller, Janel (Brent) Long, Angela Taylor, Matt (Melissa) Baker and Marsha (Devin) Hughey; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Linda and husband Claude Manuel, of Winona Lake.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Jesse, Virgil and David; and sister, Martha Lucille.
The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at Silver Creek Church of God, 15252 E. CR 100S, Silver Lake, with Pastors Tom Craig and David Sullivan. The interment will follow the service in the Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Visitation hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone.
Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Silver Creek Church of God.
