Triton Having Audit Of School Facilities Completed

BOURBON – Two companies are performing a facilities audit at Triton School Corporation.
Superintendent Jeremy Riffle told the Triton School Board Monday Elevatus and SiteLogic are performing the audit to help the school corporation prioritize things that need updating.
Specific items being audited include the HVAC system at the high school, subpumps and sidewalks.
Riffle did not say when the audit would be completed.
The board also approved its 2025 budget, which totals $14,132,010. The rainy day fund is $500,000. The debt service fund is $1,814,900. The education fund is $7,805,950. The operations fund is $4,011,160.
In other business, the board:
• Learned Triton’s FFA purchased $1,000 of products to donate to help in Hurricane Helene relief efforts.
• Learned parent-teacher conferences at the elementary school are Thursday.
• Learned Haunted Hallways is Oct. 24.
• Triton’s high school marching band received a gold rating at ISSMA Scholastic Prelims contest held at Homestead High School on Saturday.
• Learned students are taking the PSAT test at the junior-senior high school today.
• Approved hiring Jay King, Ted Westafer, Larissa Moore and Brandon Strevy as band volunteers, Allison Stuart as the preschool teacher, Britney Hessler as a preschool instructional assistant and Trevor Bolt as a substitute teacher.
• Approved the resignations of Mark Elliott as a junior-senior high school math teacher, Kim Kelley as the preschool teacher, Ralph Berkeypile as a substitute bus driver.
