FORT WAYNE — Hunsche CPA Group, a Fort Wayne accounting firm, announced a purchase of Carnes Company CPA. The acquisition extends Hunsche CPA Group’s footprint in northeast Indiana with locations in Fort Wayne, Warsaw and now Huntington.
Hunsche CPA Group is a locally-owned full-service CPA firm offering payroll, bookkeeping, tax preparation, tax planning, consulting and advisory services, according to the release from Hunsche. The group will be joining the Carnes Company CPA office, 430 N. Jefferson St., Huntington.
Tom Carnes, owner of Carnes Company CPA and a Huntington native, established the practice in 1985. He and his team will continue to serve their clients and to help with the transition to Hunsche CPA Group, according to the provided release.
Michael Hunsche, CPA, managing director of Hunsche CPA Group, says, “It has always been my aim to broaden access to our services for small businesses around the region. Tom has built a remarkable business and we look forward to working with him and his clients.” And the focus remains the same for Hunsche throughout the growth. “As we have done throughout our business journey, we will continue to provide small-town common-sense services with big city resources.”
The new combined firm will have around 20 employees with the goal of hiring at least two more by the end of the year.
Michael Hunsche graduated from Ball State University in 2001 and opened Hunsche CPA Group in 2017 after working in the local accounting field. This expansion is the fifth in five years for the group. Last year, Hunsche CPA Group acquired a CPA firm in Warsaw, as well as an accounting firm and payroll company in Fort Wayne.
