Margaret Ellen Weakly

BOURBON – Margaret Ellen Anglin Weakly, formerly of Bourbon, passed away on Oct. 1, 2024, at Signature Health Care in Bremen, where she had resided for three years.
Margaret was born in Etna Green on March 1, 1928, to John and Mary Agnes Hatfield Anglin. Margaret graduated from Bourbon High School in 1946. Following his return from World War II, Margaret marred Calvin Max Weakly on Oct. 6, 1946. They celebrated 77 years together last year. Max preceded her in death in January of 2024.
Margaret was a member of the Bourbon Methodist Church and the Bourbon American Legion Auxiliary. She retired from R.R. Donnelley. In retirement she enjoyed following her grandchildren’s activities, knitting, working jigsaw puzzles, collecting cardinals, bird watching, gardening and watching college football and basketball, as well as watching the White Sox and Cubs. Margaret loved sharing homemade peanut brittle, Christmas trays and garden produce with friends and neighbors.
Margaret is survived by daughters, Diana Graham, of Spartanburg, S.C.; and Lee Ann (Ed) Rock, of Mentone. Also surviving are five granddaughters, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Daughter, Linda; son-in-law, Gary Fuller; and granddaughter, Tracey Fuller, also preceded her in death.
Margaret’s siblings: Phyllis Scott, Jane Sharp; Edmund, Bert and Wayne Anglin; as well as her parents, all preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Matchett Event Center, 805 N. Harris St., Bourbon, with Rev. Dr. Amber Karkosky-Litten officiating.
Memorial donations in Margaret’s name may be given to: Traditions Health Hospice, 3555 Park Place W., Suite 100, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
