Warsaw Parks Board Approves 2025 Facility, Program Fees

Rates for Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department facility rentals and program fees will remain largely the same for 2025 as they were in 2024.
At its meeting on Tuesday, the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Board approved the charges.
One of them which they did opt to change at the direction of Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department Superintendent Larry Plummer was eliminating the option to rent Zimmer Biomet Center Lake Pavilion's conference room for four hours only. People may only rent it per day in 2025 at a cost of $250.
"We had one rental that was four hours, and they were there a half hour before and an hour after the rental," said Plummer. "Most of the people are doing it all day when they rent that."
Changes the board approved Tuesday for 2025 program fees include a $3 per participant decrease for Nerf Wars and a $5 per participant decrease for Go Wild. New charges for 2025 include $50 for a Bob Ross Paint Class and $6 per participant for Super Hero Academy, both of which are new events for next year.
The full list of facility rental rates for 2025 includes: Firemen's Building, (Monday-Thursday), $225 daily; Firemen's Building, (Friday-Sunday), $275 daily; Nye Youth Cabin, (Monday-Thursday), $150 daily; Nye Youth Cabin, (Friday-Sunday), $175 daily; ZBCLP conference room, (all-day), $250; ZBCLP main hall, (Monday-Thursday), $300 daily; ZBCLP main hall, (Friday-Saturday), $500 daily; ZBCLP full facility, (Monday-Thursday), $450 daily; ZBCLP full facility, (Friday-Sunday), $600 daily; Central Park Plaza, $225 daily; Lucerne Amphitheater, $200 daily; Lucerne cabins, (Monday-Thursday), $75 daily; Lucerne cabins, (Friday-Sunday), $100 daily; picnic shelters, $75; picnic tables in the park reserved, $5; picnic tables delivered in city limits, $15; oicnic tables delivered in Wayne Township, $20; sawhorse tables delivered in city limits, $10; sawhorse tables delivered in Wayne Township, $15; digital marquee, $18.69; firemen's Building damage deposit, $250; Nye Youth Cabin damage deposit, $100; ZBCLP conference room damage deposit, $100; ZBCLP main hall damage deposit, $300; ZBCLP full facility damage deposit, $400; Pike Lake Campground nightly rental, $40; Pike Lake Campground weekly rental, $250; Pike Lake Campground monthly rental, $600; Pike Lake Campground seasonal rental, $2,500; and wheelbarrow full of wood for Pike Lake Campground, $14.02.
Program fees for 2025 are: Art in the Park, $15-$35 per participant; Bob Ross Paint class, $50 per participant; Colorful Ceramics, $3-$10 per kit; Daddy's Little Sweetheart Dance, $20 per participant; Family Carnival, $10 per wristband; Go Wild, $10 per participant; Mommy-Son Dance, $20 per participant; Nerf Wars, $4 per participant; Pickleball clinics, $20 per clinic; Santa Letters, $3 per letter; Santa's Workshop, $20 per participant; Science Camp, $8 per participant; Senior Art Class, $6 per participant; and Super Hero Academy, $6 per participant.
All of the following are free events for 2025: classic rock concert, kids' coloring contest, six community canoeing sessions, six community paddleboarding sessions, country concert for St. Jude, Easter egg hunt, Fall Family Fun, two family movie nights, Family Game Night, Holiday light display, Ten Imagination Stations, kids' fishing derby, Leprechaun Hunt, Library Stories in the Park, Light Up the Night, Skate Park, Late Skate-Glow Night; Skate Park, Scoot-Skate Day; nine concerts in the Summer Concert Series, Touch-A-Truck, three Wipeout events; and a women's self-defense class.
In other business, the board:
• Heard from Plummer the Great Lakes Watercross group had been considering Warsaw for a watercraft racing event in 2025. The group ended up picking a Kendallville site to have its event, but might consider Warsaw for a 2026 event.
• Heard from Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Director Stephanie Schaefer that Light Up the Night is 6-8 p.m. Dec. 6, at Central Park. The Christmas lights display will be lit for the first time, and Santa will be present to visit with kids.
• Heard from Plummer that parks' mechanic George Music won the parks' department's "Never Missed a Beat Award" for October.
The board's next meeting is 5:15 p.m. Dec. 17, at Warsaw City Hall.
