The Truth Still Matters

November 5, 2024 will be remembered as one of the saddest days in American history.
It will be remembered as the day America forgot its hard-won freedoms and elected a pathological liar and charlatan as president. A man who, having lost an election, lied and schemed to overturn that election. These lies were not convincing lies. Everyone could clearly see they were the lies of a narcissist refusing to admit defeat.
November 5, 2024 will also be remembered for the sycophants and corrupt politicians, so desperate for power, that they threw their country under the bus by refusing to speak out against the charlatan.
History will not look kindly on any of these people, but they don’t care about history, or America. They care about what they can get for themselves today. Having failed to gain the power they crave by honest means, they chose instead to amplify the lies, to engage in divisive fear-mongering, to purge voters, and to change election laws in Democratic strongholds in their favor.
No honest person can seriously claim that these changes to election laws were to make elections more secure. They were blatant attempts to stop people from voting.
People have told me to let it go and move on. They’re tired of hearing about it. I care about this country too much to do that, and I know there are many like me out there. We will not go gentle into that good night. We will fight this man with every ounce of our strength, because THE TRUTH STILL MATTERS. AMERICA STILL MATTERS.
To those out there who tried to scare us into silence by banging on our doors in the middle of the night, stopping in front of our houses to curse and threaten us, repeatedly stealing our signs and putting explosives in our mailboxes - shame on you.
We are not yet living in Putin’s America where you can silence the truth by intimidation. These next four years will require hard work on the part of all of us who still believe in the promise of America. Too many people died in defense of freedom and democracy to do nothing.
