Warsaw at Norwell
In a battle of two teams ranked in the top 10 of their respective classes, it was 4A No. 6 Warsaw that came out on top over 3A No. 3 Norwell, winning 74-50. The Lady Tigers improve to 2-0 to begin the season.
Warsaw led 20-17 at the end of the first quarter but outscored the Lady Knights 30 to 17 in the middle two periods to build a double digit lead that they would not relinquish.
Brooke Zartman led the Lady Tigers with 24 points on 8/16 shooting for the field and 6/11 from three point range. Four Lady Tigers scored in double figures including Alexis Neely and Joslyn Bricker with 15 each and Brooke Winchester with 14.
Zartman's 6 3pt FGs moved her to #2 on the career list, passing Kacilyn Krebs on the all time Lady Tiger list.
Warsaw plays its home opener against Fort Wayne Snider Thursday.
Wawasee at Prairie Heights
Wawasee improved to 2-0 this season with a 50-24 win over Prairie Heights Saturday. A 10-0 run to start the game was enough for the Lady Warriors to never look back.
Mackenzie Hackleman led the team in scoring for the second straight game with 16 points. Right behind her was Olivia Horn with 15. Horn, Hackleman and Lucy Wilkinson all had five steals.
Wawasee is at home against Fairfield Tuesday.

Triton at North Miami
A great season for Triton came to an end Friday night in the championship game of 1A Sectional 43, as the Trojans fell 28-21 at North Miami. The boys in blue end their season with an 8-4 record.
No statistics were available for the Trojans in the game. The contest was tied 7-7 after the first quarter, but a 14-0 edge in the second proved to be the difference for the Warriors.
Triton will return next season.
