Triton School Board Approves Superintendent’s Contract

BOURBON – Triton School Board approved Superintendent Jeremy Riffle’s contract Monday.
The contract will go from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027, with an annual base salary of $124,460.
The contract provides for Riffle to work 250 days per year subject to the following paid leave: school holidays and vacation periods within the school calendar, 20 days vacation, three days personal leave and 12 days sick leave. Also included are contributions to a retirement fund and a term life insurance policy.
The board also approved a two-year teachers’ contract. In the contract, the salary range for the 2024-25 school year will be $43,000-$72,200.
The board also approved two-year administration contracts. Riffle said administrators will receive a $1,600 increase in pay.
In other business, the board:
• Approved the 2025-26 Indiana ESC Food Co-op member annual contract.
• Approved for FFA members to attend the National Farm and Machinery Show in Louisville, Ky., from Feb. 13-15.
• Learned sixth-graders held a mock election last week, where students campaigned for their favorite snacks.
• Heard veterans programs were put on at the elementary and junior/senior high schools Monday.
• Approved the resignation of Zach Wittaker as a teacher and varsity football coach effective Oct. 14, 2024; June Klotaz as an instructional assistant effective Dec. 31, 2024; and Sierra Hart as a high school cafeteria worker effective Nov. 30, 2024.
• Approved the hiring of Josh Acindor as the eighth-grade boys basketball coach, Roney Younis as the varsity football coach, Amy Overmyers as the junior-senior high school math teachers and Jacqueline Schaetzle as a substitute teacher.
