NORTH WEBSTER – It’s official. The North Webster Town Council approved and signed the town’s 2025 budget Friday.
The 2025 budget was approved as advertised.
The 2025 budget is $1,972,779, lower than the 2024 budget. Last year’s budget totaled $2,055,339.
The budget includes all departments, except wastewater.
The budget includes the following funds: casino/riverboat, $15,000; rainy day, $106,000; general fund, $1,086,670; local road and streets, $46,309; motor vehicle highway, $300,800; continuing education, $7,000; cumulative capital improvement (cigarette tax), $6,000, cumulative capital development, $20,000; and the economic development tax credit is $385,000.
Only the general fund and the motor vehicle highway funds are raised through the town’s tax rate.
The assessed value is $81.6 million.
There is no proposed change in the tax rate. The current tax rate is $0.5255.
Dan Thystrup, council president, said he was happy with the 2025 budget.
“We are happy that we are a little lower than last year,” he said.
They started working on the budget in June. The town will know in December if the state’s Department of Local Government Finance approves the budget.
