Tippy River Adventures Names Cassandra Cross As General Manager

May 31, 2024 at 11:44 a.m.

Tippy River Adventures announced the appointment of Cassandra Cross as general manager of the company.
Cross’s hiring aligns with the long-term growth goals of Tippy River Adventures to increase canoe and kayak paddling along key sections of the Tippecanoe River, according to a provided news release. Cross started in mid-May.
“It’s important to bring in new team members and leverage their strengths to allow Tippy River Adventures to make the jump to the next level of growth. We want to get more people on the river, and Cassandra will position us to do just that,” said Ryan Martin, co-owner of Tippy River Adventures.
Cross is a product of Grace College’s School of Business, where she is a second year student with a focus on digital marketing. Utilizing that focus, along with a love of the outdoors, nature and physical activity, Cross is expecting to grow brand awareness of Tippy River Adventures and Tippy the Otter.
“One of the things we heard multiple times from customers through Seasons 1 and 2 was, ‘We didn’t even know you guys were here!’” said Jody Claypool, co-owner of Tippy River Adventures. “We’re excited to have Cassandra move us forward in getting the word out and facilitate scheduling of days stuffed with paddling across miles of our managed river space.”
Cross will spearhead Tippy River Adventures’ mission to be the “white glove service provider for all non-gasoline powered watercraft activities on the Tippecanoe River”. Tippy River Adventures’ three tenants of Recreation, Education and Conservation remain front and center. Cross will strive to bring awareness and access to this currently underutilized Kosciusko County resource, that also happens to be one of the top-10 most important rivers in the U.S., the news release states.
Founded in late 2021, Tippy River Adventures is the only kayak and canoe rental and livery in Kosciusko County. The company offers paddling excursions on the Tippecanoe River in approximate two- to three-hour segments for group sizes ranging from 1 to 50, which include watercraft rental and transportation to or from embarkment and dis-embarkment locations. Tippy River Adventures also offers Eco-Floats, which are guided educational floats geared toward learning more about the ecology and history of the Kosciusko County resource.
