Indiana Funeral Education Foundation Recognizes Kathy Gill As A Professional Development Scholarship Winner

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Funeral Education Foundation recognizes Kathy Gill as a Professional Development Scholarship winner.
Gill is the pre-planning specialist with Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home in Warsaw. She is the first non-funeral director to receive this award.
The mission of the Indiana Funeral Education Foundation is to support the membership of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association with lifelong learning through professional development scholarships and student scholarships for those entering the funeral profession, according to a news release from the foundation. It also supports the funeral service practitioners of today - helping them better serve their communities. And finally, to secure the future of the profession by helping recruit and train those wanting a career in funeral service.
Gill will be using these funds to attend Dr. Alan Wolfelt’s Comprehensive Bereavements Skills workshop in Arizona later this fall. Part of the Redpath-Fruth services include aftercare, which is following up of the bereaved.
The Indiana Funeral Education Foundation is committed to excellence in funeral service education and offers five $2,000 professional development scholarships. These scholarships are available to any member of IFDA, licensed and un-licensed firm staff, individual, senior and associate members.
The Indiana Funeral Education Foundation also awards four student scholarships for a total amount of $12,500.
