Round Barn Theatre Offering Summer Workshops For Students

NAPPANEE - The Round Barn Theatre in Nappanee will be offering summer workshops for students beginning in June.
• Introduction to Dance is for ages 6-12 and will be June 10 to Aug. 12, 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.
This class will introduce children to each basic style of dance. A little ballet, some jazz, some hiphop and maybe some tap as well. This will give children the solid dance foundation they will need as they continue into harder classes. Cost is $125 for all 10 classes.
• Tumbling and Movement is for ages 6-12, June 10 to Aug. 12, 5 to 6:15 p.m.
Students will learn beginner tumbling skills such as somersaults, handstands, backbends and cartwheels. The class will touch on proper stretching and flexibility. For the movement portion, the class will start with some ballet technique and move into a modern/contemporary style to help gain the confidence and ability to move in a different style and manners. Cost is $125 for all 10 classes.
• Theatre 1 is for ages 10-18, Thursdays, 5 to 6:15 p.m., June 6, 13, 20, 27 and July 11 and 18.
The class introduces students to basic performance skills and monologue analysis, culminating in the performance of a 1-minute monologue.
• Theatre 2 is for ages 10-18, Thursdays, 5 to 6:15 p.m., July 25, Aug. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. Must have theater class experience to take Theater 2 class as it builds upon the foundations of Theatre 1. Students will practice new analysis skills and performance techniques, culminating in the performance of a 2-3 minute monologue.
