Banning Completed Message Series Focused On 7
Letters in Revelation
ATWOOD – Last Sunday, Atwood Otterbein Church Pastor David Banning completed his message series on the Seven Letters written to the churches in Revelation. He spoke about one of the great challenges facing the church … apathy.
He shared that too often, folks simply go through the motions of “doing” church rather than fully investing themselves and committing to the church in the way fans commit to the other things in life they invest themselves in and display their devotion like sports.
Referring to the letter to the church at Laodicea, he reminded the congregation that God emphasized the Laodicea congregation was not invested in His teachings and did not care. This letter showed them how to become devoted again. In it, God emphasized the danger of ignorance and becoming influenced by modern culture, issues we also face today.
Banning ended the series by reinforcing that our church has been through a lot this past year ... but the congregation has remained devoted to what God called us to do and to be. He encouraged each one to remain that way.
The congregation encourages folks to join them at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday morning for uplifting messages. Come early for coffee and fellowship and stay late for snacks with family and friends!
