The Kosciusko County Convention & Visitors Bureau (KCCVB) is celebrating National Travel & Tourism Week (NTTW) from May 19 to 25.
Established in 1983, NTTW is an annual tradition to celebrate the U.S. travel community and travel’s essential role in stimulating economic growth, cultivating vibrant communities, creating quality job opportunities, inspiring new businesses and elevating the quality of life for Americans every day, according to a news release from KCCVB.
According to the 2022 Tourism Economic Impact Report conducted through Certec Inc., Kosciusko County experienced an increase in visitors of 5.8%, welcoming 1,671,894 visitors total. These visitors spent $272 million and generated 2,548 jobs in Kosciusko County. With all the KCCVB’s marketing efforts combined, they reached 1,331,912 potential visitors last year.
Some ways residents and visitors alike can celebrate NTTW in Kosciusko County include viewing the Kosciusko County Visitor Guide online or picking up a print copy. The digital guide can be found on KCCVB’s website at https://visitkosciuskocounty.org/digital-guides/.
KCCVB has also created six free digital passports called the Engage Kosciusko Passports which are available on their website at https://visitkosciuskocounty.org/engage-kosciusko-experience-passes/.
These passports offer entry into drawings for Kosciusko Cash and other prizes.
KCCVB also has a series of Outdoor Spaces brochures and maps with lists of all the beautiful outdoor recreation opportunities available in Kosciusko County, including Trail Spaces, Nature Spaces, Blue Spaces, Play Spaces and Art Spaces. These can be found on at https://visitkosciuskocounty.org/digital-guides/.
“Travel and tourism benefits our workforce, supports our local economy, fosters sustainability, encourages innovation and is critical for bringing growth to our community as a whole. We hope that visitors and residents alike take time this week to celebrate travel & tourism by engaging with our community,” said Cori Humes, executive director of KCCVB.
