Two people were injured after the vehicle they were in allegedly hit a Warsaw Community School Corporation bus Friday.
At approximately 9:03 a.m. Friday, at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Anchorage Road, a white 2011 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Aaron McCoy, 51, of Wolcottville, was traveling west on U.S. 30, according to information provided by Warsaw Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Chris Francis.
McCoy disregarded a red traffic light at Anchorage Road and hit a northbound Warsaw bus, operated by Gene Farrar, 73, of Warsaw.
Farrar was the sole occupant of the school bus and was not injured. McCoy and his front seat passenger, Wayne Miller, 49, of Lagrange, were treated for non life-threatening injuries.
WPD was assisted by Lutheran EMS and Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory.
In a statement from WCS Friday, WCS reported one of its school buses was involved in an accident that morning and that no students were on board at the time. As a result of the accident, WCS said there may be disruptions in travel and transportation.
The school corporation thanked the local police and emergency personnel for their quick response and assistance.
