Butler Johnson, of Warsaw, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the age of 91.  He passed away in the loving care of Paddock Springs Assisted Living in Warsaw.
He was born on April 18, 1933, in Prestonsburg, Floyd County, Ky., to Audie Poe and Smith Johnson. On Feb. 12, 1958, he married Elleree Owens. Butler and Elleree faithfully shared their lives with each other and left their care in God’s hands. After 61 years of marriage together, Elleree passed away on Oct. 25, 2019.
Butler was a reliable hard-working man his entire life. He worked in customer service at Zimmer in Warsaw for many years until he retired. Butler was a member of New Creation Fellowship in Warsaw, where he loved and supported his church and church family.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to many. Butler dearly loved his family and most of all he loved his Lord and proudly shared his faith. He held a steadfast confidence in God and His promises to us, and he is now celebrating in Heaven!
He leaves behind his son, Pastor Rick (Martha) Johnson, Winona Lake; daughter, Karen Elaine Seals, Warsaw; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elleree Johnson; one son, Phillip Alan Johnson; two brothers, Johnie and Amos Johnson; and four sisters: Ethel Shepherd, Hazel Jackson, Thelma McKinney and Irene Cripe.
Friends and family are invited to visit from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Butler’s life will be celebrated with a funeral service that will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by his son, Pastor Rick Johnson. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
Memorial donations may be directed to New Creation Fellowship, 315 N. Cedar St., Warsaw, IN 46580 and would be appreciated by the family.
