Tippecanoe Valley High School Celebrates Students’ Pathways

AKRON – Students who have made a commitment to a pathway after high school were recognized Wednesday at Tippecanoe Valley High School’s third annual Signing Day.
Signing Day is meant to recognize Tippecanoe Valley High School seniors for their hard work and dedication during high school that has led to them achieving their college and career goals. The role of a high school in a student’s education continues to evolve.
At TVHS, “we take great pride in trying to provide students with many opportunities to explore careers, take a multitude of exploratory courses and to find their interests and pursue their passions. The fruits of our labors at Tippecanoe Valley from K-12 is seen both today, and at the upcoming graduation ceremony,” said TVHS Principal Brandon Kresca.
The athletes recognized Wednesday were Riley Shepherd, Huntington University, studying agribusiness, playing basketball; Cody Eastgate, Anderson University, sports marketing, football; Chesnee Miller, Manchester University, undecided major, cross country and track; Carson Parker, Valparaiso University, civil engineering, swimming; Kyler Johnson, Marian University, finance, football; Macy Peterson, North Centeral University (Minnesota), sports management, basketball; Cameron Manuel, Franklin College, sports management, baseball; Ava Egolf, Goshen College, marine biology, volleyball; Wade Jones, Taylor University, exercise science, football and track; and Nathan Parker, Taylor University, exercise science, football.
The lone military recognition was for Sebastian Garcia, who will be entering the U.S. Marine Corps. in the infantry.

The students entering the workforce with commitments to local employers are Cameron Mason, Fallen Timber, tree specialist; Dalton Alber, G & G Hauling, excavator; Alex Lozano, InstruMed Technologies, CNC machining; Phillip Smith, Craig Welding or WeFab, tig welding; Brason Smith, Louis Dreyfus, working as a temp; and Malachi Wolf, Stellantis, automobile manufacturing.
Those students who know what they want to do, just maybe not where, are Nate Engstrand, electrician or excavation; Cody Small, residential construction; Landon Durkes, electrician; Kolyn Grossman, custom butchering; Jailynn Evans, real estate agent; Issiac Ramsey, electrician.
