NORTH MANCHESTER – At Wednesday night's meeting, North Manchester Town Council approved Police Chief Nate Birch's request for new recording equipment for the department's interview room.
The current recording system, used for collecting evidence from victim and suspect interviews, is no longer working. A new system will be $15,641 plus an optional two- to five-year warranty for up to $6,600.

Sally Kraus and Dave Heist represented the group and spoke on "Portrait of a Graduate," their latest input series on what makes a successful student.
In other business:
• Council discussed trash bids for 2024–28. The town will remain with Republic Services but the rate adjustment will not be set until the June meeting.
