McMinnville, Tenn., resident and Warsaw, Ind., native Shirley Mae Smith, age 74, was born June 19, 1949, and died May 1, 2024, at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a sudden illness.
A retired employee of Timbercrest, she was the daughter of the late Herbert H. and Elnora Louise Bays. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Sharon Johnson.
Mrs. Smith was married Dec. 14, 1969, to Clarence Smith, of McMinnville, who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Tony (Valerie) Smith, of Smithville, Tenn.; grandchildren: Aaron Smith, Christopher Smith and Brittany (James) Barrientos; siblings: Patricia Duncan, Paul Bays, Brenda Hundell, Sandy Young and Gladys Allison; and several nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, Mrs. Smith will be cremated. No visitation or services will be held at High's.
