MILFORD – Michael Ward Hobbs, age 78, of Milford, passed away Wednesday evening, March 20, 2024, at home.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1945, the son of Caroline Spencer Hobbs, in Warsaw. On July 27, 1968, he married Vickie D. Fosnaugh; she preceded him in death on May 9, 2016.
He is survived by his son, Michael (Nancy) Hobbs II, of Warsaw; a daughter, Kelli Hobbs, of Milford; three grandchildren: Patrick Lee, of Milford; Tanner (Marissa) Hobbs, of Warsaw; and Trenten Hobbs, of Mentone; and a great-grandson, Vaughn Hobbs, of Warsaw; two siblings, David Hobbs, of Syracuse; and Phyllis (Larry) Graves, of Marion; along with several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother; wife; and three siblings: Cathy Hobbs, Phillip O’Neil and Tony O’Neil.
Mike was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps from 1964-1970 and served 13 months in Vietnam and during the uprising in the Dominican Republic. Mike was the Leesburg town marshal and retired from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department after over 25 years of faithful service in law enforcement.
In his early years, he enjoyed coaching baseball in Leesburg and in his latter years, spending time with Vickie in Florida. Mike owned and operated H&H Security with Vickie and provided security for Explorer Van in Warsaw. He was also a member of the Milford American Legion.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place. The family will host a celebration of Mike’s life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Kosciusko County Humane Shelter or Combined Community Services of Kosciusko County.
