March 21, 2024 at 4:05 p.m.
Local artisan Terry Armstrong, of Warsaw, a watercolorist, will be one of a number of artists who has handcrafted eclipse-themed works at the 12th annual Indiana Artisan Marketplace, which will happen the weekend before the solar eclipse.
Armstrong describes his watercolor by saying, “I was about to experience the magic of a surreal eclipse. The sun was shown high in the sky and the light had a peculiar otherworldly feeling. It was as if a rare astronomical event was taking place. I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to witness this breathtaking moment. In my mind, this is the feeling that I will get when the eclipse happens.”
Scheduled for April 6-7 show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, Armstrong and other artisans will bring something extra special to the state’s premier art, food and beverage experience, making this event the Marketplace that eclipses all others, according to a news release from the Artisan Marketplace.
With the eclipse happening the day after the Marketplace on April 8, Armstrong and other artisans will display their eclipse-themed works and delicacies in every aisle. Guests will be able to vote for their favorite solar eclipse piece.
The public can attend the 12th annual Indiana Artisan Marketplace at the Agriculture Horticulture Building at the fairgrounds, 1202 E. 38th St., Indianapolis, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 6 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 7.
