IEDA Names Alan Tio As New Executive Director

The Indiana Economic Development Association (IEDA) on Tuesday announced Alan Tio as its new executive director.
Tio, the former Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO) CEO, assumed the role on Monday, according to a news release from IEDA.
“I am thrilled to welcome Alan Tio as the IEDA’s new executive director,” said Erin Schneider, IEDA Board chair. “His extensive experience and proven track record of success in economic development make him the perfect person to lead the IEDA towards a bright future.”
Tio brings a wealth of experience to the IEDA, having worked in economic development at various levels throughout his career, the release states. Most recently, he served as the CEO of KEDCO, where he oversaw aspects of economic development for the county.
Throughout his career, Tio has achieved significant accomplishments, including: Being named a Top 50 Economic Developer in North America in 2019, receiving the Indiana Governor's Circle of Corydon award in 2018, earning the DCI 40 Under 40 Rising Stars in Economic Development award in 2015, receiving the Indiana Governor's Distinguished Hoosier award in 2014
Tio holds a Master of Public Affairs degree and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. He is also a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) and earned a Master Economic Development Practitioner (MEDP) certification.
The IEDA is confident that Tio’s leadership, experience and expertise will be instrumental in guiding the organization to achieve its mission of promoting economic growth and prosperity throughout Indiana, the release states.
“I am honored to return to the IEDA and lead this exceptional organization,” said Tio. “I am committed to drawing on the strong foundation we have built and propelling us forward as a community of future-focused economic development leaders. I look forward to working with all of you to advance our economic development efforts in the years ahead.”
The IEDA is the statewide association representing local and regional economic development professionals and other economic development stakeholders.
