Arlene Gaither Cole, of Warsaw,  is celebrating her 95th birthday on March 17.  Her family and friends will be welcomed to help her celebrate from 1 to 3 p.m. No gifts please, but cards are welcome. Please contact Arlene for details.
Arlene is a member of the Free Methodist Church. Her husband, Edgar, was in the ministry at several different Free Methodist churches. He was also a railroad station agent prior to his retirement from the railroad.
She was from Bridgeport, Ill., and met Edgar when she was young. They were active ball players and she still is a great fan of watching ball games! She actually hit a home run at age 65! They also were avid horse fans, both of them owned horses & belonged to a Saddle Club in Bone Gap.
After retirement, Edgar and Arlene moved to Warsaw in 1973. Edgar was the minister of the Free Methodist Church in Columbia City until they closed. They worked together for quite a few years at the Friendship house where she was head of housekeeping and Edgar was head of maintenance. Arlene loved her job at the Friendship House! Edgar was a chaplain at KCH hospital.
They have lived most of their married life in Warsaw. Their children Sandra Sue and Lynn Edgar, brought them so much joy.
If you see Arlene, wish her a happy birthday.
