Steven Wilson, 77, of Warsaw, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, in his home.
Steven was born on Aug. 19, 1946, in Warsaw, the son of Russell and Geneva Miller Wilson. He was united in marriage to Margaret “Bambi” Smith on Aug. 21, 1970, in Winchester, Va.
Steven attended Purdue University, studying to be a veterinarian. He then enlisted into the U.S. Air Force. He proudly served his country as a sergeant during the Vietnam War with an honorable discharge in 1970. In addition to being a pilot in the Air Force, he was an airplane mechanic.
Steven was a graduate of Grace College where he met and married his wife, Bambi. He continued his education receiving his master’s degree in Master of Industrial Administration at the Krannert School of Purdue.
He was employed as a certified public accountant with the firm of Ramsey, Wilson, Wiggins for 30 years. Later he joined Edward Jones as a certified financial planner. He enjoyed wilderness camping in BWCA, flying, worked part-time as a student at Warsaw Airport for a number of years and took great delight in being a soccer coach. He attended Pleasant View Bible Church, Warsaw.
Steven will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Bambi Wilson, of Warsaw; son, Aaron (Tiffani) Wilson, of Warsaw; grandchildren: Caleb (Braden) Smith, Katelyn Smith, Ethan, Ian, Brynne (Liam) Roffey, Arwen, Oren, Nathan, Jackson and Caedmon Wilson. He was preceded in passing by his parents and daughter, Megan Wilson, in 2009.
Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, March 22 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. A celebration of Steven’s life will follow at 11 a.m. with Steven’s son Aaron Wilson officiating. Military honors will be rendered after the service at the funeral chapel. Interment will be later in Oakwood Cemetery.
