If you live in North Webster or drive through on Main Street, one can’t miss The River Coffeehouse downtown.
Now there’s The River Coffeehouse downtown Warsaw, and Tuesday the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce celebrated the new business at 102 E. Center St. with a ribbon-cutting.

Amanda Meerzo, owner of both coffeehouses, said she opened a second one because “the opportunity was here. We’ve wanted to come to Warsaw for a few years. Just the right location wasn’t available, and this one happened to be available and we acted on it.”
As for what The River offers, she said they have breakfast sandwiches, various coffees, small lunch paninis and “just small food and snacks.”
Hours for the downtown Warsaw location currently are 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays, but Meerzo said they will be extending those probably in May for the summer. Hours on Saturdays are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., but those will be extended as well.
“In North Webster, we have a really large space so it’s easy for people to come in and hang out. We have very different seating options there,” she said. “Here, it’s a lot smaller but we do have the outside seating, which both locations do have that outside seating.”
She said they want people to come in, meet with friends, do their homework, hang out or get an order to go.
“We’re a family-owned business. All of our kids are a part of it. We like to serve good coffee,” Meerzo stated.
