Sixty-seven teams competed in Tuesday’s Community Quiz Bowl at the Warsaw Community High School Tiger Recreational Activity Center.
The winner was the Sea Grandon/ATELIER team. Team members were Sea Grandon, director of ATELIER; Ted Grandon, Jon Grandon, Cordelia Grandon and Isaac Shipley.
The theme for the event was "It's the ’90s.” Erin Serafino, executive director of the Warsaw Education Foundation, said just under $25,000 was raised. Funds will go toward WEF programs like the Red Apple Grants.
During Tuesday’s event, teams answered four rounds of questions, with 15 questions in each round. Categories included ’90s Fashion and Sports, ’90s World History and 2023 - A Year in Review.
Questions included: What was the first movie to earn $1 billion at the box office? What is Bill Clinton’s presidential number? In 1999, Wayne Gretzky retired from what and what team? Who is known as the Golden Boy of tennis and sported a mullet most of his career?
