Syracuse Cub Scouts Compete In Pinewood Derby

SYRACUSE - Syracuse Cub Scout Pack 3828 held its annual Pinewood Derby Saturday at the Scout Lodge near Syracuse.
Thirty-eight cars competed, with Shay Tackitt capturing the top award for the fastest car in all five divisions.

The Lions Den first-place winner was Shay Tackitt, followed by Fin Railsback in second place and Bella Sills in third place.
Nik Pawlicki captured first place in the Tiger Den while Bryson O’Connell placed second and Kylie Crance in third place.
Winners in the Wolf Den were Finley Pickler in first place with Nolan Coward coming in second, followed by Vincent Phillips in third place.
In the Bear Den, first place went to Jace Tackitt with Ace Richcreek capturing second place and J.J. Shepard taking third.
Mason Roes won first place in the Webelos Den with Conner Vanover placing second followed by Kenzie Kimes in third place.
Other awards were Best Workmanship won by Mason Roes, Best Design won by Finley Pickler and Most Decals went to Shay Tackitt. For being a good sport, Liam Lees received the Pokey Award for the slowest car, which he accepted in good humor.
The Syracuse Cub Scout Pack 3828 meets at 6 p.m. every Monday at Saint Andrews United Methodist Church, 1413 N. Long Drive, Syracuse. Boys and girls in grades kindergarten through fifth grade are eligible to join. For more information, contact Cub Master Leigh Scott at 574-527-8031.
