MILFORD – Bonnie J. Yoder, age 93, of Nappanee, formerly of Milford, passed away in Fort Wayne on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
She was born on July 26, 1930, the daughter of Arvella Marie Whithead and Winford “Shorty” Marshall Miller in Milford. On Oct. 4, 1952, she married Floyd J. Yoder; he preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 2001.
She is survived by a son, Steven (Pamela) Yoder, of Westfield; a daughter, Sue (Thomas) Mehl, of Milford; two grandchildren, Austin (Wendy) Yoder, of Carmel; and Shanda (Josh) Brown, of Milford; two great-grandchildren, Jaydon and Jaxon, of Milford; sisters, Phyllis Sorensen, of Milford; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters, Delilah “Dee” Wuthrich and Nancy (Snider) Graham.
Bonnie was a devoted member of Bethany Community Church and a God-loving woman who loved her family and friends fiercely. She was deeply proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bonnie was the best cook ever and loved to cook and bake for her family and friends, much to their benefit. She worked for several years in the Milford School cafeteria and retired in 1992. Bonnie also enjoyed sewing clothes, reading, playing cards and socializing with family and friends.
A funeral service will be held in Bonnie’s honor at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 at Bethany Community Church, 19003 U.S. Highway 6, New Paris. Pastor Jim Vandermark will officiate. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Bethany Community Church, Milford Library or Milford Lions Club.
