WHITLEY COUNTY - A Warsaw man was killed in a two-vehicle head-on collision Thursday in Whitley County.
According to a personal injury and fatal report from the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, a 2019 Toyota truck, driven by Darren Burchett, 36, Warsaw, was traveling west on Lincolnway just west of the intersection of CR 450W. The Toyota entered into the eastbound lanes and hit a 2003 Dodge truck, driven by Victor Morris, 23, North Webster, head on.
Burchett was pronounced dead at the scene and Morris was taken to Parkview Whitley Hospital for further treatment. He suffered a broken left hand, according to the report.
Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $30,000 each.
Along with the WCSD, the Indiana State Police investigated.
