Preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Annie Curley Brooks; his wife of 54 years, Frances Brooks; his son, Stephen J. Brooks; and three brothers: Robert, Raymond and Gordon Brooks; Peter’s spirit is carried on through his family. Peter’s academic accomplishments were highlighted by earning a bachelor’s degree and becoming a licensed professional engineer within the aerospace industry, a career that illustrated his passion for innovation and precision. He served as a mechanical engineer and project manager at the Bendix Corporation for 38 years, retiring in 2000, and spent the previous 13 years of his professional career in his homeland, England, mastering the mechanics that would define his career.
Beyond his professional achievements, he was an ardent lover of jazz music, which provided a soundtrack to his life and soothed his soul. Peter loved golf, tennis, ping-pong, the Chicago Bears and Cubs and remained a devoted Manchester United fan his whole life. He lived his life to the fullest, fulfilling a dream of skydiving at the young age of 73. Peter loved traveling and made the trip back to England many times over the years, spending time with family and friends. His career took him all over the world and he made many friends the world over. Peter's presence was a harmonious blend of grit, determination, intellect and creativity, qualities that he also encouraged and recognized in his family and peers.
