Joel Squires said he and Rocksteady Pizza Parlour co-owner Alex Stults hope to give customers a "family-friendly and efficient ... dining experience."
The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce had a ribbon-cutting for the restaurant at 108 E. Market St., Warsaw, on Wednesday.
It opened in mid-December 2023. The menu includes different types of pizza, sandwiches, salads and ice cream. There's also various drinks, including beer and wine, with plans to hopefully add more alcohol choices later on, Squires said.
He said the restaurant was a "culmination of what (he and Stults) always kind of wanted to do."
"Alex and I have been partners together for about 12 years now, probably a bit longer through other projects and stuff, and just as we've gone through different things, this is kind of the culmination of what we've always kind of wanted to do, something really fun that not only families can enjoy, but young adults and having something exciting to do too (through the arcade games)," said Squires.
Rocksteady's name is linked to the TV show "Teenage Ninja Turtles," but Squires said the name is actually "multifaceted."
"There's a bit of love for that nostalgia, and we definitely grew up on video games and stuff like that," he said. "The other thing that we really like about the word is just that meaning of foundational, kind of long-lasting. We want to be something steadfast, rocksteady in the community and kind of be here for a long time hopefully, just be something that people can go to."
The business has about 15 employees.
Squires said the restaurant has expanded services since it opened.
"When we first opened, we had just the one brick oven, and we were able to do carryout and stuff like that," he said. "We recently got new deck ovens, and so our capacity has really increased for us, so the thing that we're really excited about right now is opening up takeout, online ordering, and we're even working towards delivery for our online ordering."
Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. To reach the restaurant, call 574-376-4109 or visit rocksteadypizza.com
