Rev. Van Crouch

Rev. Van Crouch, known as simply Van, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the age of 80. He transitioned to his heavenly home in Warsaw.
He was born on Oct. 19, 1943, in Washington, Pa., to Ada Ruse and Wilbur Crouch. Van earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Clarion, Pa. He worked in the insurance business and was a multi-million dollar producer at New York Life Insurance Company.
Van was very active with the NFL and Major League Baseball teams, as a chaplain to both the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. He then began speaking nationally to corporations and businesses. He traveled the United States and abroad, ministering the gospel in churches, Bible schools and conferences. He also was invited to be the keynote speaker at many college commencement ceremonies. Van Crouch made an impact on everyone he met! He never met a stranger. During his traveling days he obtained million-mile flying status with United Airlines and made lots of friends in the United Terminal at Chicago O’Hare Airport.
His spirit of excellence will be missed by many. He is survived by his daughter, Wendy (Ken) Potter, Evans City, Pa.; son, Brent Crouch, Warsaw; four grandchildren: Robert Hawley-Potter, Marie, Kenny and Mikey Potter; and his brother, Collin (Linda) Crouch, Nicholasville, Ky. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rev. Van Crouch’s life will be celebrated with a service at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 27 at Home Church, 744 S. CR 325E, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Brian Lowe. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. Burial will be at Pigeon Creek Cemetery in Eighty Four, Pa., on Friday, June 29. Arrangements are being handled by Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
