Lannie Dale Hoskins, of Claypool, passed in his sleep into the arms of Jesus on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the age of 73. He is now made whole and is now with his beautiful wife and his Lord and Savior!
He was born on Aug. 2, 1950, in Bell County, Ky., to Ella Baker and Ed Hoskins. On Aug. 20, 1979, he married his lifelong love, Christina Hendrickson. They were blessed with 32 years of marriage together before she passed away on Oct. 15, 2011.
Lannie was a resident of Kosciusko County since 1980. He was a hard-working man his entire life and worked for many years as an auto mechanic for TTP in Warsaw. He was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix anything. He would work on a project until he could figure it out … Lannie loved the challenge! A good day was spending hours working on a car and spending time with his family. He enjoyed yard work and he especially loved planting, working his garden and he loved a good garage sale.
He loved to serve his Lord and enjoyed worshiping alongside his church family as a member of Victory Rock Church. He took pride in caring for the church yard and counted it a great privilege and very much enjoyed it. He was a good man who dearly loved his family, and very much enjoyed loving on all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lannie will always be remembered as a great father, Papaw, Poppy and also a great friend to many. He leaves behind a lasting imprint on the hearts of those who loved him.
He leaves behind three daughters, Ruth (Keith) Gregory, Buckeye, Ariz.; Crystal (Charles “Charlie”) Trout, Roann; Angela Hoskins, Warsaw; and his son, John Hoskins and his companion, Melissa, Warsaw. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Trey Cosner; Kelsey and Jordan Gregory; Kristen Behm; Carissa Kimes; Caitlynn and Connor Trout; Brandon Hoskins; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Christina Hoskins; and two brothers, Lee and Edward Hoskins.
Lannie’s life will be celebrated with a funeral service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19 at Victory Rock Church, 6170 S. 500 E., Pierceton, and officiated by Pastor Charles Trout and assisted by Keith Gregory. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery in Claypool with a private family graveside service. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
