Billie “Bill” Wayne McBroom, 83, Warsaw, died Thursday, June 13, 2024, at his residence.
He was born June 7, 1941, in Catron, Mo., to Elcie Joiner and Luthern P. McBroom. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1960, serving for four years as an aircraft machinist on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga until his honorable discharge.
In June 1967, Bill married Mary Tripplet, who died in 1988. He married Joyce Eilene VanCuren on Aug. 26, 1988; she survives.
Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. Bill’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service following visitation at 1 p.m. and officiated by Pastor Jaron Osborne. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military rites conducted by members of the American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. #1126, both of Warsaw, and active-duty members of the Navy Honor Guard.
