A Claypool man was killed when his motorcycle went off the road and into an embankment Wednesday evening.
Kosciusko County Coroner Tyler Huffer pronounced Charles D. Sanders, 35, Claypool, dead at the scene of the crash due to the injuries Sanders suffered.
According to a news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and emergency personnel responded at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday to a single motorcycle crash on Ind. 25, just west of CR 600W. When emergency personnel arrived to the scene, they located a 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by Sanders, that was involved in the crash.
Preliminary investigation determined that Sanders was traveling east on Ind. 25 and, for an unknown reason, left the south side of the road and came to a rest down an embankment on the south side of the road.
The KCSO was assisted at the scene by Burket Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Parkview Samaritan, Reichert’s & Knepp Wrecker Service and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County FACT.
