SYRACUSE – Mark DeWitt, age 60, of New Paris, passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2024, at Elkhart General Hospital.  
He was born on Dec. 21, 1963. He was a 1982 graduate of Wawasee High School and served as a first lieutenant in the National Guard. He married Jill Patty on Oct. 13, 1990.
Mark found true joy from spending time with his grandchildren, that he adored. He loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing, gardening, golfing and chopping wood. He also loved days spent on the lake with family and friends.
Mark will be deeply missed by his surviving family members: His wife, Jill DeWitt; children, Alexandra (Tyler) Johnson, of Milford, and Mitch DeWitt, of Goshen; grandchildren: Ava, Emma and Crue. Also surviving are his mother, Barbara DeWitt, of Syracuse; sister, Marti (Terry) Likens, of North Webster; and brother, Mike DeWitt, of Syracuse. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry DeWitt.
Visitation will be held June 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Titus Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. His funeral will be Friday, June 14 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be immediately following at Mock Addition North Webster Cemetery.
