1 Killed, 2 Injured In Semi-SUV Crash

A Larwill woman was killed and two other people were injured in a SUV-semi collision Tuesday morning.
The fatal crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. 30 and CR 900E in eastern Kosciusko County, according to a news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
KCSO deputies and emergency personnel responded Tuesday at 10:48 a.m. to the crash. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and located a 2020 Nissan Murano, driven by Aleigh Hill, 21, of Larwill, and a 2021 Freightliner semi, pulling one trailer, driven by James Ivery, 57, of Chicago.
Preliminary investigation determined Hill was southbound from CR 900E, crossing U.S. 30, and pulled into the path, failing to yield, to the semi, which was eastbound on U.S. 30, the release states.
Hill suffered a broken arm and was transported via Lutheran ground ambulance to Lutheran Fort Wayne.
A front seat passenger, Terry J. Wood, 50, of Larwill, suffered internal injuries and was airlifted by Lutheran Air Ambulance to Lutheran Fort Wayne.
A second passenger, Magdalynn M. Wood, 26, of Larwill, was pronounced dead at the scene by Kosciusko County Coroner Tyler Huffer, as a result of injuries suffered in the motor vehicle crash.
Ivery was not injured in the crash.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Pierceton Police Department, Pierceton Fire Department, Indiana State Police, North Webster Fire Department, Lutheran ground and air ambulance, Reichert’s Wrecker Service and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
The crash investigation remains under investigation by the KCSO FACT Team.
