Candidates Continue Filing For School Board Races

Filing for local school board races ends at noon June 20.
As of Friday, June 7, only a few candidates have filed, with most being incumbents.
Adam Heckaman, Silver Lake, filed for re-election for Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation, district. 2. District 1, currently represented by Aaron Zolman, also is up for election in November.
For Warsaw Community Schools, Emerson Poort and incumbent Randy Polston, both of Warsaw, have field for district 4. Matt Deuel, Warsaw, has filed for re-election for district 6, while Mallika A. Klingaman, Warsaw, is running for district 3. District 3 incumbent Elle Turley is not seeking re-election.
For district 1 at Whitko Community Schools, Georgia M. Tenney, Pierceton, is seeking re-election. Districts 2 and 3 also are up for re-election. Annette Arnold represents district 3 currently, while Lyn Studebaker represents district 2.
The Kosciusko County Clerk’s Office had no filings as of Friday for Triton or Wa-Nee school boards.
Wa-Nee School Board positions up for election include Scott & Jefferson Township and two at-large positions; and Olive Township, Elkhart County.
Triton has one at-large seat up for election, as well as district 3 out of Marshall County. Those seats are currently held by Kevin R. Boyer and Weston M. Rettinger, respectively.
Two incumbents have filed for Wawasee School Board, including Donald Bokhart, Syracuse, district 2, for an at-large seat, and Michael Fowler, North Webster, district 1, for the other at-large seat. Voters will vote for no more than two out of the three districts - 1, 2 and 3.
