June 6, 2024 at 6:15 p.m.
Richard “Rick” Bruce Mikulyuk, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024, in his hometown of Mishawaka, where he was also born.
On Jan. 5, 1954, John Mikulyuk and Rosemary Mecklenberg Mikulyuk welcomed Richard to the world.
Rick will be lovingly remembered by his beloved daughter, Miranda (Tom) VanNevel; sons, Jason (Emmalee) Perry and Joshua (LeeAnn) Perry; and his adored grandchildren: Alexandra, Olivia, Kaylee, Nora and Chevi.
Rick's career as a skilled machinist at Zimmer spanned three decades, from 1986 to 2016, where his many friends knew him as “Muck.” He combined his precision craftsmanship with his passion for custom body work and painting. His siblings, George, Marilyn and Christine, remember him as a man of many talents.
In retirement, Rick found joy and tranquility at his family cottage on Donnell Lake in Michigan, a place close to his heart that he helped build. His memory will be treasured there, by the gentle waters he loved, forever. Born and raised with a passion for speed, Rick found his true joy on the drag strip, where he fearlessly pushed the limits of his car and himself. Whether he was behind the wheel or cheering from the stands, his enthusiasm for the sport was infectious.
Rick’s family will receive friends on Monday, June 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, June 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Bavo’s Catholic Church, of Mishawaka, with a burial at a later date, at Chasteen Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Ky.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Traditions Health Hospice, 3555 Park Pl. W, #100, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
