July 22, 2024 at 5:10 p.m.

The work on Park Avenue between Main and Center streets being performed by NIPSCO has taken longer than planned due to weather and other complications, according to the city of Warsaw.
NIPSCO has advised that their completion date is Aug. 7.
During NIPSCO’s work, Park Avenue, between Main and Center streets, are closed. Alley approaches also are closed. All residents have access to their driveways and parking throughout the project. Motorists should use alternate routes.
Following NIPSCO’s work, the city’s portion of the project will begin.
The city Park Avenue stormwater improvement project will begin with some excavation activities, but most of the work cannot be performed until NIPSCO has completed their work to tie over the new gas main and abandon the existing mains.
The city’s project includes removing several old structures and improving the system with the placement of fewer new structures, going from eight to two structures. The project also includes placing a structural liner through the primary storm pipe along Park Avenue from Main to Center streets.
The city presently plans to be complete by the end of August.
