Lori Camp For Congress

Editor, Times-Union:
Today I’m asking you to vote for Lori Camp for Congress here in the 2nd District of Indiana because it’s time to break up the network of well-connected insiders that is running this state, and that has Donald Trump and Rudy Yakym in its back pocket, doing its bidding.
When the revered Jackie Walorski was tragically killed, this network of Republicans raced to anoint Rudy Yakym. Together, Trump and Yakym have succeeded in trampling all over women’s health, going so far as to persecute a doctor for helping a 10-year-old child obtain an abortion. They won’t stop there. They intend to ban abortion statewide and nationwide, with no regard for the health of the mother.
Republicans have been lining their pockets and running up the national debt with Trump’s tax cuts for the wealthy, all the while trying to defund our public education system by pushing for vouchers to pay for their children’s private schools. Lori will fight to protect women’s rights, to bring money back to our public schools, and to bring fairness back to our tax system.
Instead of focusing on things that matter to Hoosiers, Indiana’s leaders, including Todd Rokita and Rudy Yakym, have focused on a culture war agenda that has placed the state in a race to the bottom. Instead of welcoming immigrants at a time when Indiana faces a critical labor shortage, our representatives sat silent while Trump attacked the very humanity of immigrants, calling them vermin who are poisoning the blood of our country. Lori has pledged to make border security a priority, and she believes in compassionate immigration reform that will expedite the asylum process. She will capitalize on the hard work and skills of immigrants, rather than debasing them.
Lori Camp is a working mom who knows the struggles of everyday Hoosiers. She will work for all of us. How do I know? Because, while Rudy sits in his air conditioned office, I have watched Lori on the hot and dusty campaign trail every week listening to people and meeting them where they live. Lori will shake up entrenched Indiana Republicans whose only goal is to protect their own self-interests. It’s time to end their vice-grip on Indiana politics.
Vote for Lori Camp for Congress.
