Michael ‘Mike’ Lee Hagg

Michael “Mike” Lee Hagg, of Warsaw, passed away surrounded by his family at the age of 62 on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne. He spent his time on this earth living life to the fullest and loving people in a great way all while he fought hard against his battle with cancer. Mike’s pain has come to an end. He is whole again and rejoicing in Heaven!
Mike was born on Nov. 3, 1961, in Goshen, to Patricia Ann Tusing and Norman Lee Hagg. He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, graduating from Warsaw Community High School in 1980. He went on to earn his associate’s degree in electronic engineering technology from I.T.T. Fort Wayne. Mike was always a reliable hard-working man and went on to work for over 32 years with INDOT as a highway technician and crew leader.
Mike married the love of his life, Rhonda M. Butler, on Feb. 1, 1992. They were blessed with raising three children and celebrated 32 years of marriage together before Mike passed away. He grew up in a household that dearly loved the Lord and the teachings from his parents followed him throughout his life. Mike enjoyed the fellowship of his church family at West Eel Church of the Brethren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a friend to many. Mike will be dearly missed and forever loved by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Hagg, Silver Lake; two sons, Thomas S. (Erinn) Meredith, Silver Lake; Jonathon M. Hagg, Silver Lake; and his daughter, Valerie (Jeremey) Hackworth, Akron. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Carson Meredith and Mylee West; sister, Beth (Neil) Walker, Westland, Mich.; brother, Brad (Aimee) Hagg, Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Norm, on May 29, 2018; and his mother, Patricia, on Feb. 5, 2024.
Mike’s life will be celebrated with a service at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 19 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Jack Worth. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 3 to 6 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date at Germantown Cemetery in Silver Lake.
The family would appreciate memorial contributions in Mike’s honor to be given to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, 6316 Mutual Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
