Nancy E. Dalton, 88, Warsaw, was called away unexpectedly Sunday, July 7, 2024, surrounded by her family. Nancy lived a life full of passion and enthusiasm. She was known for her beaming smile, warm positive character, colorfully stylish outfits and love of her family and friends.
She was born in Etna Green on Dec. 20, 1935, to parents Dallas and Doris Anglin. She was one of six children, including Tom Anglin (Rita), Linda Kistler, Aimee Ross (Larry), Becky Carlin and Martha Anglin Viergiver, who passed away in 2008.
To Nancy, family was everything. She was a dedicated mother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Her children include Kirk Wilson (Steven Roche), Kris-Ellen Schenkel (Ted), Mary-Ellen Prickett, Tommy Prickett, Penny Neff (Brad), Amy Dalton Sry. She especially loved her role as Nana. Her grandchildren include Christopher Schenkel (Aubree), Katie Schenkel, Zoe Knisely (Darrin), Lola Baker, Sydney Rice (Mike), Shelby Gummer (Keith), Sam Neff, Anndee Sutton (Jason), Dalton Sry. Nancy also had nine great-grandchildren.
Nancy believed in the power of hard work. She made a positive impact in many ways and across a few industries. This included being a nurse, owner of Tom Socks Clothing Store and a real estate broker. Nancy was also very involved in the American Cancer Society, Syracuse Garden Club and her local church. Throughout her life her faith played a very important role. She loved attending mass and served as the main floral artist at several congregations.
The love of Nancy’s life was her husband, Don A. Dalton, who passed away in 1993. Nancy and Don spent 12 wonderful years together full of adventures, horseback riding, playing golf (her favorite game), entertaining friends and family and watching sunsets as they lived in Tucson, Ariz.
After the devastating loss of her husband Don, Nancy moved cross country to Sarasota, Fla., where she spent 22 fabulous years enjoying her Florida family and the warm weather. In Sarasota, Nancy made countless lifelong friendships, loved going to the beach, making her home into a beautiful sanctuary and hosting family from Indiana for many memorable vacations.
In 2016, Nancy moved back home to Warsaw to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She loved spending more time in their lives and was grateful to not miss any time together. Her last full-time job was playing Bridge with many friends throughout Warsaw.
When remembering Nancy please think of her vivacious personality and love of life. Remember that every day is a gift and how much a simple hug can brighten someone’s day.
A funeral Mass in celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, July 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.
