Oakwood Cemetery Board OKs 2025 Budgets

Oakwood Cemetery Board of Regents approved 2025 budgets Thursday.
The 2025 regular budget totals $889,530. Employee benefits are $231,883. Salaries and wages are $443,632. Supplies are $63,500. Other services and charges are $8,340. Insurance is $21,600. Repairs and Maintenance is $22,500. Utility services is $17,425. Rentals is $7,600. Other services and charges is $5,050. Capitol outlays is $68,000.
The cemetery’s permanent budget for 2025 totals $135,000.
The budgets still have to be approved by the Warsaw Common Council.
Later in Thursday’s meeting, the board was updated on the Walking Tour.
The tour is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 14.
While some things are still being finalized, sexton Hal Heagy said all of the actors have been selected.
There also have been cards made with a QR code, which will “bring up all the walks and pathway.” Heagy said there are three types of cards and 500 of each type of card will be made and be handed out during the walk.
In other business, the board learned:
• Stonework has begun on the front entrance. The left side is about three-fourths of the way complete.
• About plans on replacing the sidewalk around Legion 1. Heagy said he doesn’t know when the work will be done, but possibly next year.
• Heagy is planning on putting electrical power into Legion 3. However, the cost of underground boring to do that is unknown at this point.
• Cemetery staff will put in 17 trees in the back of the Warsaw Police Department.
