Ruth Diane Roberts, née Schutter, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024, in Fort Wayne at the age of 89.
She was born on April 29, 1935, in Muskegon, Mich., and also resided in Holland, Mich., Puerto Rico and Warsaw.
After high school, Ruth attended Hackley Hospital School of Nursing, earning her RN qualification. Her nurturing nature led her to a fulfilling career as a Home Health Care nurse. Ruth was devoted to her faith and was active as a deacon in the Presbyterian church. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and spending her time with family and friends. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her.
Ruth is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Kenneth; and their daughters: Susan (Gene) Swank, Sarah Lowe and Sandy (George) Reilly. She was a cherished grandmother to Alicia (Ryan) Swank-Bauer, Jillian (Dan) Warner and Kyle (Adam) Lowe-Noblitt; and a respected sister-in-law to Jane Summers and Judith Schutter. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Harold A. and Thelma Schutter; and her brother, Harold V. Schutter.
Private services will be held at a later date.
