Donate Blood On July 17 At Parkview Kosciusko Hospital

July 1, 2024 at 7:15 p.m.

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. They don’t wear capes or special suits, and their badge of honor is the bandage that shows they gave the gift of life.
The community is invited to become a hometown hero and answer the call of patients in need by donating blood on July 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Parkview Kosciusko Hospital.
Each day, the Red Cross needs to collect about 12,500 blood donations and nearly 3,000 platelet donations to meet the needs of patients at about 2,500 hospitals and other facilities across the country. About 62% of the U.S. population is eligible to give blood but only about 3% donates, according to a news release from Parkview.
Donating blood is one of the simplest things a person can do to help save a patient’s life. For the hour it takes to give blood, there could be a whole community of people thankful for another birthday given to their loved one.
To make an appointment or to learn more, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org and search parkviewkos, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.
