NORTH MANCHESTER – Walter Melvin Hoover Jr., 83, North Manchester, died Jan. 28, 2024.  
He was born at home in Laketon, on Dec. 4, 1940, to Walter Sr. and Alice Castator Hoover. Walter was married to Judy R. Smith; she died in 1972. He was married to Linda L. Lake McDermott and then he married Linda S. Rumpf Mattern in 2018.
Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Revs. Ken Sistrunk and Todd Render officiating. Walter will be placed in his final resting place at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Walter’s name be given to Stillwater Hospice Foundation, 5910 Homestead Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46814, Attn: Development or at [email protected].
The family has entrusted McKee Mortuary with final arrangements.
