It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Carol Joan Kaser Wogoman, 93, of Goshen. She passed away Jan. 12, 2024, at home following a two-week illness.
She was born Oct. 10, 1930, in New Paris, to the late Donald and Edna Ernsberger Kaser. Carol graduated in 1948 from Goshen High School and completed one year of nursing school, before marrying her high school sweetheart Earl Wogoman on Aug. 27, 1949. The South Side Soda Shop was Carol's first venture into the working world. After raising four children, she worked at the tax assessor's office and then as the office manager of Bearcat Corp for 20 years, retiring in 1992. She was a life-member of Psi Iota Xi sorority and Plymouth United Church of Christ in Goshen.
Kind and giving, Carol and Earl were quick to offer a helping hand, always assisting family and friends in every project and repair. Carol was an excellent cook, a voracious reader and an eager traveler, having visited nearly every state in the U.S. She enjoyed the outdoors, flowers and birds. Above all, she dearly loved her family and friends and having a visit with them over a nice glass of wine brought her great joy.
Carol is survived by her four children: Deb (Jim) Morgan, Steven (Delores) Wogoman, Wendy Wogoman and Thomas (Kelly) Wogoman; her grandchildren are Michael, Kelsey (Brad Arnold), Josh (Madison) and Seth; and stepgrandchildren: Heath (Tammy), Chelsea (Ryan) and Graham (Lizzi). Carol has also been blessed with great-grandchildren, Isabella and Sage; and stepgreat-grandchildren: Zach, Beka, Hunter, Cole, Oliver, Dylan, Ella, Tucker and Brook; and stepgreat-great-grandchildren: Cooper, Jettson, Lynx, Charlotte and Felicity. Carol has one surviving sibling, Bill (Phyllis) Kaser; and she was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two sisters and one brother.
Carol will be remembered for her beautiful smile, sweet disposition and natural beauty.
Visitation to rejoice in Carol's life will be Saturday, Jan. 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
Interment of ashes in Violett Cemetery will occur at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the College Avenue Fire Station paramedics for their kind service through the years.
